FITNESSGRAM® / ACTIVITYGRAM®, developed by The Cooper Institute, is a comprehensive health-related fitness and activity assessment and computerized reporting system. All elements within this program are designed to assist teachers in accomplishing the primary objective of youth fitness programs, which is to help students establish physical activity as a part of their daily lives. FITNESSGRAM® / ACTIVITYGRAM® and AAHPERD's Physical Best program, cooperative partners in fitness education programs, now recognize the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA) as a complement to their youth fitness programs. Information on PALA is being incorporated into Physical Best and ACTIVITYGRAM materials and workshops. The philosophies of both Physical Best and FITNESSGRAM® / ACTIVITYGRAM®, are supportive of recognition that emphasizes participation in regular physical activity. The PALA program is an excellent philosophical match for these programs.

It connects a community of like-minded professionals who share the goals of changing society's perceptions of aging and improving the quality of life for aging Baby Boomers and older adults within the six dimensions of wellness. The council supports these professionals with education, information, resources and tools, so they can achieve optimal success with this growing market.
One of the tools supplied to the ICAA's 3500 organizational members is the Presidents Challenge. The ICAA makes this information accessible to members, within the member section of the ICAA website. It also supports the Presidents Challenge with ongoing updates to ICAA members and nonmembers, as well as incorporating it into the ICAA conference Active Aging 2003. The ICAA also promotes the President's Challenge as the vital tracking tool for the organization's national health observance: "Active Aging Week."
